As the clock ticks the night away with the moon high on the skies and stars flickering among them, Omega calmly casts his gaze toward them with a half filled cup of some kind of alcohol. He chuckles at the scenery enjoying the memories he still retains with his drinking buddy Ogonsky, remembering one day out of every month they get together to drink. Omega usually doesn’t try to get drunk too much, he doesn’t like having a hangover and especially nether-brewed alcohol from Ogonsky can be a fickle thing. But on occasion he would join Ogonsky to get each other completely drunk, Omega is graced with being able to hold his liquor being calm and composed while drunk while Ogonsky having his drunk mood-swing, spewing his heart out at the correct tipping point. These memories get disturbed by a small knock against the wall where he was at. Omega without even checking on who it was, “Come on in Cheri, I see that you’ve finally decided to join me from the hallway.” He calmly stated out to the sneaking individual that has been rattling their bones for quite some time. Although to give Cheri some points, she did keep herself quite quiet.
“How did you know- How- I didn’t even make any sound” Cheri said, like a liar. “Trade secret Cheri. Take a seat… why you come here? Can’t sleep” he calmly said, turning his body and changing his seating position to face Cheri, yet his body still turned more toward the night sky. Directing his full attention with his eyes, resting his gaze toward the ever so awkward Cheri. The skeleton girl pondered a little, taking a step back, and forward and back again, hesitating but quickly resolved herself and took a seat on a free couch. Omega softly asserted “You don’t have to if you don’t want Cheri-” “No! I… I want to, just… I don’t know.” Cheri tried to figure out the words to say while Omega kept quiet. “Yeah… Uh I guess? I don’t know. I can’t sleep. Something has been bothering me… I don’t know how I’d say it…” Cheri rattling hard, some might even see a vein popping trying to figure out how to explain what’s on her mind. “I lost my dad… I~I feel alone here…. I have no purpose… no army to put myself in. Nothing I’ve done back then matters now. Believe me Oceris and Shiv are wonderful people, and Oceris can be scary…” Cheri said letting her baggage flow out while also looking terrified as the image of the merfolk vividly appeared in her head, dissociating a little and having a war flashback remembering Oceris anger. While all that happens Omega curls the edge of his lips feeling an odd sense of pride. Breaking out of her own stupor Cheri continued their words, “ But yeah… I don’t understand why Dad replaced himself… No, I do understand… But I have no one I know… It feels wrong, like I shouldn’t be here… It should have been Dad.” Omega nod understanding what Cheri is trying to say, “I feel… like… your gaze… Your’s and Oceris… it’s like looking at someone else. And. Not me.” Cheri said what her heart has been bottling up, vision blurring wondering what Omega would say. She takes a deep breath, calming herself down and allowing her to notice Omega still observing her with a tingle of sadness in his eyes. Cheri mistaken it for pity and raises her voice “That! That right there… It doesn’t feel like I am part of your family… I am only tolerated because I am associated with Ogonsky- ""Cheri!-""WHAT!? I’m right, aren’t I?” Cheri shakes even more, waiting for an answer. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry that my action has caused you much grief. I did not help you because Ogonsky was associated with you. I don’t look at you and remember your father, even if he asks me to take care of you.” Omega sighs quietly before continuing, “So it is the same with Oceris, She knows why things have to happen but she does not blame you for something you don’t do, nor does she tolerate you just because you are your father’s daughter. I take charge because I want to. We all have our own problems that are dealt with in various ways.” He tiredly chuckled “Take my daughter, she works tirelessly without stopping as if she has to prepare for something… Like I was in Elysium. For a trauma nobody should have. I don’t believe you know what you want right now?” He softly asked Cheri. “No… Not really.” Cheri answered dejectedly, her shoulder slump. “But… What about Unum, sometimes she has that same look, longing for someone and being very cold to him?” She quickly raises her head and shoulder questioning Omega but he wryly laughs, rarely you would ever see him laugh. “Unfortunately… He tried to kill me. Early on when he finally was able to help him be in one place, and I said something that caused him to go… berserk. So she was and still is very wary of him… of course things have gotten better mind you.” Calmly he narrates his story, while Cheri listens in and processes everything that has been said. “However… changes are something you have to accept at your own pace, and I hope that you will come to accept us as your new family.” He gave her a notable smile and stayed quiet as Cheri looked down toward the floor thinking about his words. “Thanks… Omega. For listening… and sorry for the outburst I just have.” she shifted, quietly rattling. “I understand, you don’t have to apologize. I’m not Ogonsky, I can’t relate to you the same way he can. But I’m here for you and whatever you need.” Omega stated, and let the quiet atmosphere sink in for the two of them with Cheri breaking the soothing hum of the night. “Hey, can you tell me more about Dad’s life here?”
